Hypertension Management - High blood pressure, commonly referred to as hypertension, is often a silent contributor to cardiovascular issues. For those dealing with hypertension or concerned about their blood pressure, Dr. Belardo offers comprehensive care. Beyond the primary factors influencing blood pressure such as genetics, lifestyle, and stress, Dr. Belardo emphasizes the importance of searching for secondary causes of hypertension. These secondary causes can range from kidney issues, hormonal disorders, sleep apnea, obesity, to certain medications and more. Dr. Belardo passionately advocates for the power of lifestyle changes in addition to guideline directed medical therapy. Through specific adjustments in diet, exercise, and stress management, many patients can achieve significant improvements, and in some cases, put their hypertension into remission. Patients should never feel solely responsible for their hypertension; with Dr. Belardo and our team's support, a holistic and individualized approach is always within reach.
-
Dr. Belardo also sees patients for general preventive cardiology services. For individuals without cardiovascular disease, Dr. Belardo can help you evaluate your risk for developing heart disease.
